If you sign the petition or use our 'Contact the Councillors' form on this site, we will collect your name and email address, and optionally your address and phone number. This information is used to:
• Record your support for the campaign and present the petition to South Dublin County Council / email the Councillors
• Send you updates about the campaign, including information about public meetings, events and the council vote if you opt in
• Contact you with future campaign-related communications from People Before Profit
The legal basis for processing this data is your consent, given when you complete and submit the petition form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the address in section 9.
If you register for a public meeting, street meeting or other campaign event through this website, we will collect your name and email address, and optionally your phone number and postal address. This information is used solely to manage attendance at the event and to send you joining instructions or updates about that event, unless you opt-in to more general contact.
If you contact us through the website or by email, we will retain the information you provide in order to respond to your enquiry. We will not use this information for any other purpose without your consent.
Standard server logs and analytics may record your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time and date of your visit. This data is used in aggregate to understand how the website is being used and to improve its performance. It is not used to identify individual visitors.
Personal data collected through this website is stored securely on the Solidarity Tech platform. Solidarity Tech acts as a data processor on our behalf and processes your data only as instructed by us, in accordance with a data processing agreement.
Your Personal Data may be sent outside of the European Economic Area (‘EEA’) as a result of the Campaign’s use of certain software, the providers of which store and process some of its data in servers outside of the EEA, including Australia and the USA. Such transfers are on the basis of safeguard measures such as standard contractual clauses under Article 46.2 of the GDPR or an adequacy decision by the European Commission under Article 45 of the GDPR.
We will retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Campaign data collected in connection with this rent hike campaign will be reviewed and, where appropriate, deleted or anonymised following the conclusion of the campaign.
We will not sell, rent or otherwise share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:
• With Solidarity Tech, as our hosting and platform provider, solely for the purpose of operating this website and delivering our communications to you
• With People Before Profit, as the political party supporting and organising this campaign, for the purpose of campaign communications and political organising activity
• With South Dublin County Council or Councillors, where petition data is submitted to them as part of the campaign, in which case only your name and, where provided, your general area will be included
• Where we are required to do so by law or by order of a court or regulatory authority
If you sign up to receive campaign updates, your email address and name may be held in a contact list managed by People Before Profit and used for future communications about the party's activities, including future campaigns and elections. You may opt out of this at any time.
